Beaudesert Quilters Retreat - Mt Tamborine

I'm Back...had a wonderful weekend away with friends - laughed myself silly most of the time...and now very tired.  Yes I have unpacked my bags and now checking to see what I have missed in blog land.  I didnt get much sewing done while I was away, to busy talking and laughing and eating....but I had a good time anyway.  Our theme for the weekend was Masquerade & Bling, and boy do some people take it to extremes. What a blast..Hopefully I can download some photos to show you all.
These are my roomies for the weekend - Tereasa (in the pink), Helen (in the white) and my best friend of all - Me (in the black).  lol.  We put our masks on for Saturday nights entertainment - dont we look fabulous.

Here is another photo of fellow retreaters - Raelee, Carol, and Wendy...arnt they just beautiful.
Tereasa finished her "T'is the season" quilt top - It came up so beautiful, I think it would look good hanging at my place....hint hint
Helen worked on a Jellyroll quilt - I can't wait to see it finished,  she insists that she is not a quilter - but I think she has been outed now.

The challenge for the retreat was to make a placemat for the dinner table, incorporating the theme of the weekend.  This was my creation - not very practical because I had a rather large piece of bling right in the middle - I just put my plate to the side or let it wobble.
Anyway its nice to be back - I have already said hello to all my pretties...oh and the hubby and kids...cant forget them.  cya all later.

Beaudesert Retreat - Mt Tamborine

I head off early tomorrow to join my fellow friends at the Beaudesert Quilters Retreat at Mt.Tamborine. Yes thats right - I get to sew to my hearts content and mingle to my hearts content and eat to my hearts content.
I have spent the day sorting out what to take with me - and finding it very hard not to pack everything I own (especially my fabrics) .  I mean - who is going to admire my fabrics while I'm gone, who is going to think nice thoughts about them til I get back.  I know I have packed more than I need but you never can tell what will crop up while I'm away....I have been learning to do needle turn applique lately thanks to my friend, Helen, so I hope to practice my skills while there.  I think I will have trouble sleeping tonight thinking about tomorrow and trying not to get tooo excited.  Anyhow will promise to put some photos up when I get back. Do you think I should short sheet the beds of my roomies, mmmmmm, what do u think?...cya later

Tea Time Mug Rug

This is my favourite....for now.

Today I have made 4 Tea Time Mug Rugs - thanks to a wonderful site - Freebies For Crafters..The reason I made four is because I just couldnt decide on a colour theme to use.  I just loved doing this little project and will use my mug rug all the time..might even make some for chrissy presents...

Last week I finally finished Joe Jingles, I have been wanting to make him for so long that he is hanging up already.   I know its not christmas yet, and I will pack him away, promise,  but I just wanted see him hanging around for a while.

Flannel squares are joined...

I have decide to make the flannel into two small quilts - one for a boy and one for a girl...that way I am covered no matter what my future grandbubby will be.  The tops of the quilts are finished and are waiting to be finished - I will try to keep them out of my UFO pile.

More Photos...

Look at these beautiful flannels I bought from Homespun and Beautiful....What will I do with them..Yes as you can tell I am a fabricoholic....I just can't help it, I have this urge to feel my fabrics on a regular basis. I am going to be a grandma for the first time in seven months, maybe I should make something for my future grandbubby.  In the meantime I think I will just fondle them a bit more.
