A Little Bit Of Sewing

Yesterday I finished another one of the items brought back for me from the Sydney Show...this little bookmark by Anni Downs..isn't it gorgeous...I can't wait to do another project from her new book - The Simple Life..maybe the project bag...

My daughter is going on her year 7 trip next month and wanted a little bag to carry her camera
around in...She chose the fabric and I thought I would add a strap to it so she would be less likely to lose it while away...Now I am thinking I will make one for myself so I can have my hands free when I'm out and about too...

Turtle Pincushion

Even though this was a small project it took me five days to complete it...not because there is alot to do but because I have been sooo busy...it doesnt help that the kids are on holidays too at the moment.
Anyhow finally got him made...don't know why its a him but it is...and I will definitely make more of him....maybe in florals next time.  So take a look before he scampers into the garden to hide..

Sex on the Beach...

Now that I have your attention.....only joking....Sex On The Beach is the name of the cocktail I had at lunch when we celebrated my friend Lynne's 60th birthday.  I saw the list of cocktails on the board and just knew I had to try this one...and it was absolutely delicious.  I got a giggle out of the fact too that my husband went up and ordered it for me....lol  This is what it looked like...

This is a photo of Myself, the birthday girl-Lynne and Chrissy...What a great day...lovely food - so much food in fact that if you could believe it - I didn't even have dessert....I love days when there are lots of laughing with friends, heaps of food and realllly cool drinks...We had a little trouble getting this photo taken cause behind the camera were three husbands being silly....lol

Look what I got...

Two very special friends went to the Sydney Show and bloggers catchup on the weekend..
I didn't get to go...boohoo...maybe next year...anyway I gave them both a mission to do while they were at the show...they were both given $20 each to purchase something small for me...it could be anything they thought I would like.  The only rules were - 1. No quilt patterns or books...I have enough unfinished quilts hanging around the house as it is...and 2...no orange fabric...don't ask me why I just don't get along with that colour at all...lol
Well this is what they brought back for me...and I'm tickled pink (not orange..lol)  I have already started the Turtle Pincushion...I think I might get them to shop for me more often..I will put a photo up of my finished pincushion when it is completed...
Thanks again Helen and Teresa...love them...

Family Time

Wow, what a weekend...Friday night was a celebration for my step father, Graham, it was his 60th birthday and the family got together to ...well ok maybe some where there just for the cake but most were there to wish him happy birthday...lol
Here is Hudson with his great grandfather..

Here is the family...Left to right..James. Keelan, Michael, Jaxon, (front..) Nathan,
Amelia, Hudson, Elle, me (Sandi) and Wayne...

Then on Saturday, Hubby and myself and our daughters Elle and Amelia with grandson Hudson went to Seaworld...Unfortunately I forgot to take any photos of our day so I had to pinch one from my daughters collection...Hudson couldn't take his eyes off of the sharks in the tank, hence the bluey/green tint to the photo...

I did manage to get a photo of these....priorities....2 dozen Kirspy Kreme dounuts....mmmmm, we bought these on the way home...and yes they tasted as good as they looked...

And now for today...Movieworld with all the kids and one grandchild...I did manage to get a photo or two of the kids waiting in line for the stunt show..they were behaving just like children and it was hard to get a good photo of them all...come to think of it...hubby was being silly too...

At least the eldest daughter, and  son-in-law are behaving themselves...

And as for Hudson, this is how he felt about the day....

So as you can see I had a very busy weekend and on several occassions I did glance at the sewing still sitting on my table...well maybe I can get to that tomorrow.....cheers all...

Mums Birthday and Totti

On Saturday it was my mums 67th Birthday...we spent the morning at her place eating cake and rocky road and cuddling our little Hudson...Hudson is my mums first great grand child but I didnt get a photo of the two of them...to busy eating I guess...maybe next time. She is looking a little too excited about the rocky road here...we may have to take the knife off of her...lol

Still can't get into this rocky road......

At last the rocky road has been cut...now where is that cheesecake....yum

This week end I was fortunate enough to get a little sewing done...so now we have a new member to the Moore household...Meet Totti....Totti has been hanging around my sewing room for some time now just waiting to be made part of the family.....and now she has that opportunity...
Say hello to everyone Totti...

A Little Light Reading - NOT

I have been busy reading the trilogy books - FIFTY SHADES...mmmm what can I say about them..
NOTHING - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.....I have no comments that I can put up about these books...I did enjoy reading but that is ALL I can say..lol

We had a visit this week from my dad..this was the first time he got to meet his great grandson..here we have a photo of the four generations...my dad, me, my daughter and my grandson...

I did get some stitching done this week..I am doing the Lynette Anderson "FERNHILL" button of the month stitchery...This is what I have done so far...sorry about the photos - they are a little bright cause I was trying to photograph them at night...
Block 1.

Block 2.

And Block 3...

Now I know this has nothing to do with stitching but I just have to put up a photo of my grandson...he was in such a happy mood on Monday when I was sitting him...cheers.
