Another Little Project

I have just finished "Always Stitchin's" Sewing case...well my version of it anyway...
I, against the recommendations of my sewing buddies, made an alteration...I had the main piece of the case made but I wasn't happy with it..so I did the unthinkable...I sliced through a layer of fabric and popped a piece of pellon inside, then covered it up with tape ribbon...Yes I know, I can see my friends shaking their heads at me...letting me know I'm crazy but it just would have bothered me and now I am contented...can you hear my purr girls....lol

Tuesday Girls...Don't look at the next photo...lol

And now for a little reading......I had ordered these yesterday so was pleasantly surprised when they arrived today..time for a cuppa I think...

Will cya all later...stop shaking your heads girls...   :)

I did have some special visitors today for show and tell...My frizzle is such a clever little lady by hatching out 6 little chicks.....what good girl...catchya all later...

Saturday Giggles

On Saturday I went off to Helens place to do a little sewing and a little sewing is all I got done...
We spent the morning laughing and being silly....it was so good, I needed a little pick me up and to spend time with friends is the best way...I did try to sew something but tears from laughing too much kept getting in the way...
Today was the first time Marilyn (non blogger but avid stalker of blogland) joined our little group...
Norreen is the one on the left laughing her head off and Marilyn is on the right...Come to think of it I dont remember anyone sewing much...

Helen was working on her Dear Santa doll, but I'm not sure why it looks like this...its looking mightly strange...words fail me...yes you heard me...speechless I am at how to describe the doll so far...it's the big red footy looking thing with the nob sticking out of the top...

What a great day...lotsa laughs, lovely food, and great friends....and a little sewing..I didn't even take a photo of what I was stitching on the day...maybe next time..I hope you all had a lovely weekend too.
One more photo...everyone is still laughing and Helen is trying to screw her head on (her doll of course)..catchya later...

Dolls, Dolls, Dolls and a Pudding

Just a quick post thismorning as I have to get ready for babysitting my grandson....
Dolls are popping up everywhere at my house....I have finished a couple that have been waiting for just the right finishing off items...
We will start with Dear Santa....

Then we have his friend and Christmas pal..The Snowman...aka White Christmas..

This one is Wishes Do Come True....There seems to be a theme happening here..have you guessed
what it is yet..lol

Now this doll I did make a couple of weeks ago - actually I made two, but I couldn't post about it because I had made the second one for my Friends Swap partner - Leanne...
His name is - I Believe...don't ask me why!!

And that brings me to THE PUDDING...mmmmm

Maybe the title of this blog should have been "Four Dolls and a Pudding"  just like Four Weddings and a Funeral....lol
Anyhow I know it is a quick blog, but time is short and I did want to get them on here...hope you all have a lovely week..lots of sewing and sunshine..and maybe a little chocolate....cya

Tuesday Puddings...

Yesterday the Tuesday girls had a Tuesday Puddings day...we set the day aside to make puddings from one of last years Homespun Magazines...
I am trying to catch up with my posts...hence the catch up today...sorry if I am confusing everyone..
Three of us were making puddings...well I was trying to make one...more on that later...

Here we have from left to right...Mary, Tereasa, Teresa and Helen...I am not sure if you can see what we are eating but I didn't think we should have a sewing day called Tuesday Puddings without having puddings to actually eat...not that we need any encouragement to eat anything.

Yum...don't they look devine...chocolate pudding (ok muffins - do you know how hard it is to buy pudding this time of the year...and no I didn't have time to make them...tooo much sewing comes first..), custard and strawberries.
Anyway back to the sewing - I had a little trouble with my pudding - see I told you I have no patience in the kitchen...I spent the day sewing my pieces to find that I just couldnt get it to work...this is what my pudding looked like..
I have sewn the bottom on here but when I put the stuffing in, it wouldn't sit right...so this is what it looked like when I did some unsewing and pulled the stuffing back out...handsome - I think not..lol

This is what it should look like....I think I have a little way to go....But I have come up with a different way of doing the base so hopefully I can show you a photo of a nice handsome pudding on another day..As you can see I may have had toooo much sugar and unpicking by this stage..
The day was not a total loss..Teresa made a lovely pudding ornament...mmmm maybe I could make one of these instead...

Enough for now...hope you all have had a lovely week..cya next time..

Tuesday Angels

I must be talking about the Tuesday girls of course....a long stretch I hear you say....well ok, maybe I am talking about some little angels we have been making...
Last Tuesday we spent the day making "Angel Greetings" from Country Keepsakes....
Here are some of my little girls in the making...

I wonder what you call a gathering of angels....a flock??....lol I hope not....wouldn't that be weird...a flock of angels....
Well anyway here were have some of the angels hanging around watching the day infront of them..
You may notice that some of them are just heads...they belong to Helen...hopefully we will have a photo of them when they are completed.  Teresa's angels hopefully will join us too.....maybe next week...

This is a close up of my little ones...I have changed the tags from the pattern - typical  of me - I know - but I just hate to do what I am suppose to do...I always feel I need to add something of myself to s patterns...
Meet Autumn and Spring...

And here are Christmas and Winter...
Hubby wants to know why I am always making dolls with such sad faces..mmm..I don't know but I will look for one that is bright and cheery just for him...

I plan on putting one out per season....a little shelf angel to keep an eye on things...
I have just realised that not all my angels have there wings yet...they must be the naughty ones...maybe they take after the maker...lol.   Anyhow cya next time..

Loubee Lou

Another doll I hear you say....well what can I say...they are sooo fun to make and dress up...I think I am reliving my childhood when I use to dress up Barbie....she always had to have the matching accessories to the outfit she was wearing for the day....
Now I know I would look silly playing with Barbie at my age so I guess this is my substitute...
Loubee Lou is sporting a spring outfit today...with matching hat to keep the warm sun off of her pretty face and a little jacket for the cool breeze...She loves to lay under the sun on the cool grass and stare up at the clouds and daydream...a romantic at heart...she was born in late July so her starsign is Leo...Leo's ruling planet is known to be the "sun" - how appropriate is that...(Yes - I confess I had to google that).
Anyhow I am sure she will delight in this household with her antics and bring smiles to the hearts of all that meet her.  catchya next time...

Turtle Tuesday

Turtle Tuesday actually happened last week and as you can see I must be a week behind, so I do apologise for this blog being late....and by the way, thanks Teresa and Helen - I hope you don't mind but I have pinched some photos from you...yeah I know - I am getting slack at taking photos too..
I will have chocolate for you next Tuesday...

Last Tuesday some of us decided to make the Turtle Pincushion from Anni Downs new book...
What a great day...Here we have Helen on the left and Teresa on the right and me in the middle..
I could put an old saying in now but I won't..you know the one that has to do with thorns and a rose...lol  But in this case it would have to be changed to a bunch of roses and no thorns...

Here is my turtle wondering what the hell happened to his buddy..(Teresa's turtle)...is that what happens when you near roads...

Aarr....now thats better....Teresa's turtle is looking more like himself..Doesn't he look wonderful and he even has put on a little weight since the last photo.

This little guy here is Helen's turtle...he is the mischievous one of the three...he kept trying to escape out into the garden....naughty boy....Helen raised her turtle from a mere scrap of fabric..and look what all that nurturing has become - one handsome little turtle full of so much energy that I am sure he is going to wonder off again....

What a fun day we had....this week we had Tuesday's Angels...more on that later though...cya
