A Win and A Birthday

No Not for me, the win is for my hubby...He took off on Friday to entertain himself in - well what ever you call it...Golf I think...lol
Anyhow he came home with these - needless to say he was very happy with himself...one has winner on it and the other has longest drive...maybe that means he had to drive along way to get there..lol
Ok enough sports..
Yesterday we hosted a 17th Birthday party for Michaela (my sons girlfriend)...would you believe my camera had a flat battery after a couple of photos, so I will have to add the ones I did get..
The party had a pool theme, hence all the togs and casual gear...at one stage everyone was running around with leis on but I have just noticed they are nowhere in sight, maybe they were removed before getting in the pool. The party was a mixture of 17 to 23 year olds and they decided between themselves that this would be a non-alcoholic party.....I am so impressed...after watching what happens at schoolies week and then watching how well behaved these kids where, my faith in the next generation has been restored...
Well done guys, and happy birthday Michaela.....oh and by the way...Michaela is a girl after my own heart - she chose a double chocolate cake.....yum......
That's it, I have my grandson today so maybe I will get into the sewing room tomorrow...and maybe not..(mojo has not returned yet)....lol

OK Who Stole It?

I have noticed something happening lately, just a hint here and there, but today it was just too noticeable to ignore....
I have been doing a little sewing lately and I am sure today my MOJO has just up and run away...I have looked and looked and I just cant find it...Even as I sew I can feel the anticipation of finishing a project just not there...what is wrong with me.....did someone steal it, did I lose it, did it just get up and walk away or is it on vacation...I am not sure but I hope once it is finished doing whatever it is it is doing - it will come back all energised and raring to go...
If you see it in its travels, please say hello, maybe give it a little pat and just maybe it will come back to me quickly...
Anyhow this is what I have been working on...
A mug rug -
I have also been piecing together my Homespun BOM - It's Time For Christmas..I still have the borders to add, then I can quilt it (that's if my MOJO gets back to me)...
 A couple of close ups...

Well that's it for me....hope all is well in blogland....xxx

The Tuesday Girls are out and about once again..

Seriously, I am sure you are all wondering if I do any stitching at all, and I do, I truly really actually do...just not so much of late...to much socializing (nah not enough)...
Today we had another little venture out and about...
The first stop on our list was Poppy's Chocolates...we found this chocolate shop not far from us and what a surprise it was to find out that it was so close and none of us even knew it was there..
I am hoping they do loyalty cards because I already have some chrissy presents picked out for family members on my next visit...
I think the girls were a bit excited, smiles all round...
 Decisions, decisions...mmm what to get...

Maybe there is something in this cabinet.....

This is what I have finally decided on...two sample boxes...one for me and one for....

Our next stop was to Buttons and Bows, a fabric shop in the middle of Beenleigh...I'm am sorry but
I didn't get any photos from here...maybe next time.
Our third stop was to The Brisbane Antique Shop...
Teresa found a couple of handsome fellows to hang around, as much as she wanted them to, they just wouldn't come home with us...
Maybe if we all ask nicely they would come home to party...I can see it now...we could sew them quilts and they could listen to us chatter...(an watch us eat our chocolates)...
We then headed to East Coast Fabrics where I picked up a couple of pieces for my stash - not my usual choice of colour but I feel these colours are going to be for something christmasy.

In my travels today I also acquired this little sign...kinda fitting don't you think...

As a double bonus, my order from Patchworksplus was waiting for me when I finally dragged my tired self home...
A couple of buttons, a pattern and a charm pack..woohoo....now if only I had time to sew...
I keep thinking about the little sign...how true is it...Friends ARE the most important recipe for life...and I think I hit the jackpot with my friends...they are friends I can laugh with, joke with, eat with, sew with, and be absolutely stupid with and they still love me and I love them..yeah yeah yeah
I know...I must need another sugar hit..getting sappy now...but girls, and you know who you are,
thanks for everything...I have so much fun when I'm with you all...life would be so boring to be normal...(mmm I just laughed at myself when I read the last line and sprayed coffee everywhere...lol). That's why I eat chocolate - doesn't spray so far...
I know - hopeless - I think I need sleep...starting to sound like I am in that padded cell ...I just want to know who is in there with me?
Ok Ok I'm going...cya all...xxx
PS: I gave myself an early Christmas present today...I deleted all my to do lists....so look out - I am now living on the edge.....lol

Stitches Inc Christmas Party

Firstly let me tell you, I am exhausted....party yesterday, renovations during the week and the Stitches Inc Christmas Party today...and tomorrow I will be minding my 19 month old grandson, so I am planning on going to bed early...real early...
There is always one who can get into the party spirit quickly and it so happens to be one of our very own Tuesday Girls...Helen.. She is looking so festive...and you can not tell by the photo but her earings are blinking (that's so we can find her easily if she gets lost in the dark)..
There were lots of gifts from some very talented ladies, thank you girls and yes the sugar has worn off and now I cant remember who gave me what...so sorry but I do love them all...
We had a secret santa and I was very fortunate to have Noela make a pressy for me...doesn't it look pretty and the contents were even prettier...
This is what was inside...a beautiful wall hanging with matching pegs to hold it onto the hanger and a chocolate filled bon bon...I love them Noela, thank you soooo much..(I have it hanging up already).
De made these little stars for everyone - they are kinda like origami with fabric...I don't want to unwrap mine - ever...thank you De..
We had a lucky door prize and I won second prize, but it feels more like a first place winning...My prize was a set of patterns from Ollie and Me to make a beautiful quilt...how lucky am I...thank you Maree and I will try and have it done by next Christmas..
Some party photos...lots of cameras in hands here...
Not sure what they are talking about here but it looks interesting...

This is what I made for my secret santa - Jeanette...Oh no - don't you just hate that, but this is the only photo of what I gave her...I thought I took a photo of the contents but I just cant find it anywhere...
Maybe I can steal a photo from her later...
I have had a wonderful day, laughing with friends and eating heaps - Merry Christmas girls...
Well that's it for me...so tired, good night all...sleep tight and may all your stitching dreams come true..

Early Birthday Party

Our youngest daughter's birthday is very close to Christmas day, so every now and then we let her have a party with her school friends in November...
Today was that day...and for those who live around us would know there was a hail storm go through around the same time the party was due to start...no problem - it was going to be a pool party anyway, we just moved the food inside and they were not allowed anywhere near the pool until the storm had
passed..
Amelia is lucky enough to have an elder sister who loves to plan events (she is a wedding planner) and so at the mention of the word party and suddenly everything is organised...I just sit back and relax (well maybe not - but I do get to watch my grandson while she does her magic)...This time she made Amelia a cupcake birthday cake...
And cupcakes that had a water theme (umbrellas, sand, water and a life saver)...
She also made the banner - its too big to take a photo of it all so here is a little snippet...
There were little pales on the table with different lollies in them...I didn't get any photos of the multi-coloured jellies and the oreo ball pops covered in chocolate....
My grandson wore his straw hat all day and you know what - I think I got the best job of all - to watch him while his mother got creative...tough job but someones gotta do it...pick me...
Sneaking a moment with pop and nana...
I didn't get a lot of photos of Amelia (she was in and out of the pool so many times) but I will have more, I am sure, when it is her actual birthday...
That's it for me...nana is tired...needs to put her feet up...
