Little Miss

I would like to introduce you to Little Miss ( by Country Keepsakes)...Isn't she pretty, yes as you can tell I am very proud of her.  You should have seen me making her hat - I have never made a hat before, and I think I sat with all the pieces in front of me trying to work out what I was suppose to do...as you can see I finally worked it out..lol silly me, wasn't so hard after all.

Monday Sewing Group

Look at what we have here...On Mondays we have a small sewing group that gets together to sew, laugh and occassionally eat naughty foods...Ok we may eat naughty foods a little more than occassionally.  Anyway on our last get together one of the group members, Marilyn, bought in a box of chocies to share with everyone.. Isn't she wonderful...Needless to say we had morning tea a little earlier that day.

Smile Marilyn...oh I know...wait until you finish chewing your choccie...sorry no can do...lol
Jenny here is very patiently waiting for the box to be passed to her..Doesn't it just make your coffee taste that little bit sweeter?  Maybe we should make if manditory - chocolate should always be served with tea and coffee....I know my kids would vote on it...mmm new policies for the pollies...I would vote for it..lol

Friends Swap Parcel Has Arrived

OMG - how much fun is this swap thing - I actually got pressies that were sewing related (and I didn't have to pick them out for myself from the kids or hubby).  I think I could get hooked on this swapping thing.  My parcel arrived today from Julie while I was at work and I couldnt wait to open it.
Do You know how hard it is to pose for a photo when there are pressies to be opened?
This is what I found inside - hundreds of pressies - ok not hundreds but definitely heaps and heaps, and they're all for me, just me, and me alone..hehhee

Where does one start - do I go on an opening frenzy or do I savour the moment and open them ever so slowly.  Mmm - bit of both I think.

Lets start at the very begining with ....F is for....

Fabric, Freddo and Flake - get away little daughter of mine - they are mine you hear me, all mine.
Think I may just save the chocies for when the kids go to bed - oh and you are looking tired too hubby.
The fabrics are just so beautiful - I am already thinking of projects I can use them in.

R is for....

Runner and Ric Rac - I think Julie has been spying on me because I was only yesterday hunting around my stash looking for that perfect piece of Ric Rac for a dolly that I was getting ready to make...maybe little cameras have been set up in my sewing room.. I will have to remember to smile when I'm in there - not hard to do seeing as I'm in my sewing room.  And look at this table runner - with Batiks - I love batiks.  I have put the runner on my table without hesitation ( I had to clear off all the kids junk first).  Julie you have done a wonderful job in making the runner - I love it....oh and maybe the chocolate wont last until the kids are in bed...lol

I is for......
Inspiration....look at these patterns designed by Julie herself.  Isn't she clever, I think I will do the stockings first - I do love christmas, but then again I could do the flower basket and incorporate the floral fabric Julie has sent.

E is for.....
Earings and embellishments, again I think there may be a camera somewhere.  How did Julie know I wear earings all the time and look at the timber red robin and snowman - they will make anything look absolutely georgeous, I am going to save the teapot  buttons in my special button stash - you know the one - the buttons you just gotta have but dont want to use them - they are there for you to look at and touch and to treasure like little jewels...

N is for....
Oops sorry no chocolate  left- Am I bad....
Notepad, Necklace and Necesities or should I say Nicities....Can you see the beautiful necklace, it matches the earings (I plan to wear these tomorrow).  I must have been a very good girl to get so many lovely things,
did I mention that I love this swap thingy...

D is for....
Doll.....she is beautiful and has already found a place in  my heart.  I will not be able to look at her without thinking of my new friend - Julie.  I am going to put her in my sewing room - not to hide her but because this is where I spend alot of time and I want to look at her all the time - she puts a smile on my face.  Hey Julie, can we be swap buddies next time Friends Swap comes up again....I know we are chosen at random with some help from Khris but maybe we can bribe her with some chocies...lol

And last but not least...

S is for
Sweet Smelly Soap, again, how did you know I love soaps.... I need to find that camera now.  They smell delicious....yum...I know - you cant eat them...pitty.
Something Special - A very special Teacup set...now I do feel very special....I hope Julie is as happy with my gifts to her as I have been with her gifts to me.

I know this has been my longest post but I had to take lots of photos to fit everything in...It looks like christmas and it feels like christmas....maybe it is christmas..
Maybe Julie is my santa.  Thank you Julie from the bottom of my heart and thank you Khris for organising the friends swap.  Tomorrow my coffee will taste extra  special in my new cup and I will smell nice after using my smelly soap and I will look great with my new earings and necklace on.   And I have a new project or two to start....what a day.
Cheers all
Ps...this was the first time I have added links to peoples names - so the good feelings just keep on rolling in..lol

My Special Treats

I have treated myself to some new pins, and I love them, so naturally I had to make a new pin cushion to display them on my sewing table.  That way I can look at them all the time.  Sooo Pretty.

14 weeks and counting

Elle is now 14 weeks pregnant and has been complaining of having a very tight belly...Not much room for baby - we will definitely need to go shopping for some outfits for her to wear.

Nice People Nice Things

I have started a new stitchery - Nice People Nice Things - I think this proves that I am crazy or suicidal. There is approximately 150 blocks - so far I have done 4, only 146 to go..lol.  I will put them up as I go.  I just can't decide on which ones to do first..I love the sayings but the stitcheries are great too.  When I first started copying them onto fabric I must have been hungry because the first 20 I did were all food related, so I had to mix them up so I didn't have food on my mind all the time..I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I have loved making them.  Cheers
 They just beautiful.................

Spring Is Here

Look what was waiting for me this morning...
Four baby chicks all huddle around their mother keeping warm.  Below is mother hen, she is our little frizzle bought
just because she was so pretty and she lays the littlest eggs,
and here is our proud rooster - strutting his stuff in the garden.  I'm sure he new I was taking a photo of him because he posed just right.

On the way back from checking on the chicks, I noticed our cat, Tiger, sunny herself in the yard..what a life, sitting back, soaking up the sun, watching the hens go by....

Here is our lavender bush, the flowers look glorious and smell devine, I will have to harvest some today for the kitchen.  Wayne has been tinkering in the garden.  This is what he has come up with so far, the lovely plant behind the plow is Rosemary....mmm love this on just about anything....lamb, chicken, potatoes, damper just to name a few.  It's coming along just beautifully, I think we will add some smaller plants down in front to finish it off.

Fathers Day

Happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there.  I know my hubby had a great time.  We were able to get all the kids together for brekky - with their working schedules its so hard to accomplish this these days.  I do love having them all together though...the house is noisy with the boys chatting away about the latest computer game or movie they had seen lately...The girls discussing baby names and doing a show and tell of what we have collected for the baby so far.....I love the sound of a full house, maybe thats why when I sew during the weekdays I have to have the TV on in the background for noise....They have all settled down for a DVD now - so to fit everyone in they have moved the furniture around in the lounge room, that way no-one has trouble seeing the screen..I did hear the comment to dad about him having a daralea  fathers day chocolate bag that he could share during the movie....mmm I hope they save some for me.  Anyhow I think I can smell chocolate or is it peanut brittle..Have to go - cya.
This is our brood - from left to right - Jaxon (Action Jaxon) ,James (Jimmyjo) , Elle (Elenor - no thats not her real name), Wayne (the dad), Amelia (Feral Beryl) , Keelan (Computer nerd) and Michael (son-in-law).

Ellesha (Elle) showing off my future grandchild....yeah I know I still have a while before I get to see him/her.
