Goodbye 2012

Well this will be my last post for 2012, and I thought I would go out with a bit of a laugh...you know the photo that doesn't quite make it to the blog world..
Like this one...I took this photo of my little christmas angels to put on my blog and then decided it looked like a dolly orgy...lots of naked little dollies in a pile...not a good look..lol
Just so you can see...I did make them some clothes.....
This is my little flutter of angels, just hanging around, having a laugh, planning their next adventure..

Well thats it for me...short and sweet..unusual I know...but I have to finish the year off baby sitting my grandson tonight...a sleep over...P.A.R.T.Y...can't think of a better way of ending the year..
Hope everyone has a great finish to the year..and best of luck for the 2013..

Christmas Day

Ok everyone there will be alot of pics with this post and they are all family...no sewing..
I know it's been a while since I have posted anything remotely stitch orientated lately and I promise to get back into the sewing posts in the new year but as for today it will be another post of family photos...Hope you can hang in there with me...
The kids were up early today...even the 22 year old was up at 5.30am and why not...looks like santa has been and gone...

After opening our presents, Wayne and I relaxed while the kids played with their gifts...This in itself was a strange experience because for the past 24 years we have hosted the christmas lunch, but this year our eldested daughter wanted to take over.  What were we suppose to do?  We are normally preparing food, cooking, setting tables, chilling drinks, setting tables, etc etc.  What did we do I hear you ask...absolutely nothing...relaxed, had a coffee, chatted, I could definitely get use to this...
When we arrived at our daughters home this is what we were greated with....

Didn't she outdo herself...
Here is our lovely family devouring their meal...

Being Hudson's first christmas he was given heaps and heaps of pressies from santa....one being a blow up pool, in which had heaps of balls put in it instead of water..I think this was his favourite..

We got a few family shots too while we were all together...
This is Hudson with his Nana and his Great Grand-mother.

And now with Ellesha...thats four generations...my mother, me, my daughter and Hudson..

And last but not least the whole clan...

So thats christmas for us for 2012...we are home now and resting...I was feeling a bit lost this year with not being in control over the day but I can see I had nothing to worry about, as a matter of fact I like this handing over the reins to someone else and Elle - you did a fantastic job..xxx
Thats all folks....hope you all had a great chrissy...

White Christmas

Last night we went to White Christmas at Movieworld... I only took a couple of photos because my grandson gave me his cold and being amoungst, what seemed like, a thousand people was not where I wanted to be...but I am here today and survived the experience...
We started the night with an all you can eat buffet meal from Rick's Cafe..the kids threated to stay there for the whole time and not worry about anything else...there was a selection of meats, fish, chicken, baked veges, pastas, salads, fruit platters, variety of breads, and not to mention the
desserts...lots of cakes, yummy plum puddings, trifles, christmas cookies, rum balls - you get the drift...I am refusing to get on any scales this side of christmas....lol
This is a photo of my daughter and grandson waiting in line for the merry-go-round.  The merry-go-round was to the left of him but all he wanted to watch was the roller coaster...I hate to disappoint you Hudson but Nana will go on kiddie rides with you but NOT roller coasters....this is a job for poppy....yeah I know but Nana is a wuss and I like my feet firmly on the ground....

Once he was on the ride he was tickled pink...I couldn't get a great photo of him...he just wont sit still long enough to get one...lol oh well - at least he had fun and hopefully forgot about the roller coaster.

Last photo of the family...left to right..James, Mike, Corrina, Jaxon, Ellesha, Keelan, Wayne and in front Hudson and Amelia....

That's it for me....back to bed to get some rest and with any luck I will wake up tomorrow - Christmas Day with no cold....bye all....xx

Miss Amelia turns 12..

Today was our youngests birthday so we took her to our local Coffee Club for morning tea...she was allowed to choose anything she wanted...must be in the genes because she chose a chocolate milkshake and a chocolate cookies and cream cheesecake....her eyes were bigger than her belly because she couldn't finish it..

For dinner she chose lasagne and french cheesecake....mmm yummy....

Happy 12th birthday sweetheart...hope you had a lovely day playing the wii with daddy, receiving lots of pressies and having ample of yummy foods to eat...we love you heaps..xxxx

Holidays...

We have just spent 5 beautiful days down the Gold Coast...we stayed at the Grande Florida at Miami, not the first time we have stayed there...It is great for being about 100 mitres to the beach, 5 minutes to our favourite fish 'n' chip shop and 10 minutes to the big shopping centre... I actually think we have come home to recover from our stay...Every day we went to the beach for a walk or in my husbands case a surf or on one occassion a bike ride..yes I can hear you laughing already...me on a bike...my behind is still sore..lol   I was in the pool at 6.30 every morning (had the pool to myself at that time of day - it was great).  We did marathon shopping trips ...I bought christmas decorations (plates for my wall unit), soaps and moisturisers from Lush (my favourite shop)  and heaps of clothes...Hubby was wonderful and came into every dress shop with me..he is either very patient or smart (he wanted to go to golf on one of the days)....no he is just wonderful...
The kids had a ball too..they loved the shopping and the pools, and the beach....
Here you can see the pool that was closest to our unit..if you use your imagination you can see me
floating in the water....Sorry I didn't get a photo of the rock waterfall feature or the other pool , maybe you can imagine that too...

This is an example of afternoon tea...and yes I do need to go on a diet now...

We were lucky enough to have our eldest daughter and grandson come for a night..(son-in-law had to work)... I think we wore him out..he loved the pool and the beach - I don't think he liked the shopping though - must be a male thing..

Hudson feeling the sand between his toes..

Hubby loved being on holidays...not a care in the world...or maybe he still is hoping to get to golf..lol

We took the some of the kids to putt putt...they had a ball and hubby got to practice for his golf day.
Hubby won of course, must be all that real golf he plays....
Here is my new 'PINK' bike...I think I need to make a personalised seat cover for it...I could be the only rider with a quilted covered seat...lol  not to mention I think I could use the extra cushioning..
Well thats it for our holidays..I could go on forever but I think I have bored you all enough for now..It has been great getting away - I feel like I have rebooted and am ready for the new year..
I hope everyone is having a great christmas in whatever you decide to do....bye for now.
PS: Hubby did get his game of golf in......

One Week of Christmas

This is the little village that sits on my wall unit - sorry the photo is very dark but I think you kinda
can see it...there is a little row of street lamps behind the buildings that turn on...I have been collecting these pieces bit by bit over the years and plan to  add more to it in the future.

This is a little mini quilt I made for myself and one for my friend Helen's Birthday..It is a little Rosalie Quinlin stitchery that I modified into applique...

Gee these photos are pretty dark..I hope you can see them..now to go check out who is doing the One Week of Christmas too...you could check it out to if you like - just click here..

Beaudesert Quilter's Christmas Party

Boy have I been a busy girl....The Beaudesert Quilter's had our christmas party today...yes.. another party I hear you say...I am quite the social butterfly at the moment...
This is the lovely quilt that hangs in our room...I have always loved it and today took the opportunity to photograph it..The mountains in the back are replicas of the ones we see in our area - the scenic rim.

Everyone contributed to our christmas lunch and like always it was delicious and in abundance..
The challenge for the day was to decorate an apron and here is what the girls came up with.
Trish's apron had this little teddy (on the left) in it and I just fell in love with it...needless to say that that was the apron I voted for...He was sooo cute...I did everything in my power to stop myself from stealing him...I'm sure he would have loved to have come home with me..He looked like he had a thousand tales to tell..
Gwen and I couldn't stop laughing...talk about the naughty leading the naughty...

We had show and tell and the lovely Dee brought in her chenile quilt that she has made for her
grandson...it is so cute...

Some of the ladies showed off their aprons from years gone by..this is Annie showing us her apron that her daughter had made for her in school some 30 years ago...

Now we had raffle today and Annie was the lucky winner...it was one of those bags you put your machine and supplies into and wheel it around...anyhow second prize went off, then third..
Third prize was won by Mary Rose and she decided that her prize should be such said bag that Annie had won...what a laugh....it caught everyone off guard...she is so cheeky...

Anyway to end the day we had a gift from the jolly red man himself...this is what I received..a colour and tone guide, a block viewer, black thread and two chocies..

Ok thats it for me today, I need more sleep and probably stomach stapling wouldn't go astray..lol
Merry Christmas all...

Day 3 - One Week of Christmas

I am a bit slack...forgot to do yesterdays photo so I will do a couple today...
My wall unit...

Meet my christmas goose...she looks happy because we will not be eating her...(She is one of my favourites)

And last but not least...a little collection of nut crackers.....they just crack me up..lol
So I hope this makes up for missing yesterday...hope to cya tomorrow....oh and by the way if
you want to see more then hop over to Cheryl's blog, she has some lovely photo's there to see and links to others who are joining in. cya

Tuesday Girls Christmas

I am exhausted....too much chatter, food, laughs.
Today we had our christmas party and boy did I score big time...

Helen is definitely in the party mood..maybe too much sugar??...
As you can see Norreen and Teresa were very well behaved and did get a little stitching done..but I think we are getting a little loud for Mary.

I thought I said to take anything with sugar in it away from Helen..lol
I received some beautiful gifts today..I must have been a very good girl - it does happen occassionally. Honest...
The beautiful Helen gave me a photo album in which she decorated all by herself.  Isn't she a clever
girl...I think I may add the above photo in it. It is so pretty I just want to sit and look at it all the time
and can you see the label - Tuesday Girls...Purrfect..

The first two pages are done with the remainder left for me to do...

Tereasa gave me this lovely stitchery, a gorgeous roll of fabric, a humungeous box of maltesers and a cute little angel..I told you I was a good girl..(quiet Teresa - I can hear you doubting me)..lol

Teresa must have been sewing in her sleep to get these made for each of us....the  fabric is beautiful and look what was inside..mmm ..This is going on holiday with me but I don't think the contents will make it home....

Norreen gave me this beautiful christmas mug, I plan on making use of this alot over the next couple of weeks...sorry old mug but this one is sentimental and hence is getting top priority.

And Laurel gave me chocolates, lavender soap and a packet of culinary lavender (thoughts of lavender cookies and cupcakes spring to mind when I say those two words - culinary lavender).
The soap is already in my shower begging to be used straight away...

Wow...what a score...I think I have finished with christmas now and can go straight to the new year.
The best thing about today though wasn't the beautiful gifts or the endless supply of over-indulgent
food but that I got to spend the day with some wonderful people...The Tuesday Girls - I hope all their dreams come true and that they have the best christmas ever...Thanks Helen, Terease, Norreen, Laurel, Mary and Teresa for a wonderful day...Catchya later - I can feel the sandman creeping up on me...good night all.

Amelia's Graduation

Well thats it, my little girl graduated from primary school last night...She looks soo beautiful and I couldn't stop smiling when she was dancing with her dad...I am so honoured to have her as my daughter.

Amelia's big sister came over to do her hair and makeup...I wish my hair would look like this all the
time, she is so lucky...

During the night Amelia won two awards, one for Science and one for L.O.T.E..

We are sooo proud of you Amelia, Love you heaps...
