Our Big Day Out

It just goes to show you that it doesn't matter where you go, you can make anywhere a fun time with friends...today we visited our local Laundry Mat...two of The Tuesday Girls (me being one of them) had shaggy quilts that needed washing and drying and what better way to do it - with friends and with huge machines...
My quilt going round and round....
We did manage a little sewing..(I think the lady down then end thinks we are nuts)...
All finished - clean and fluffy - perfect
Then we had a look around the new local knick knack shop...here I bought a couple of items...
Some fake flowers...
A close up - Roses of course - my favourite..
 Some pretty serviettes...
After shopping we had lunch at the Local Coffee Club...yum...I always plan on having dessert but
after eating lunch I can never fit it in...
Now for some sewing photos...I have been doing a little secret sewing lately so it has been hard to
put up any photos so here is just a little snippet of some pieces...

You may have noticed that I have been making some project bags lately so here is one I have adapted with handles for my grandson for chrissy...the large one will hold a colouring book or two and the smaller one will hold some chunky crayons...I know - he is not even 2yrs but I think he will
love it...
He loves to help his mummy in the kitchen so I have done up this panel for him with a matching chefs hat...
Now back to the project bags...here I have completed another two (matching) bags for myself...
And here is Teresa with her Project bag and Norreen couldn't wait to show us her new one...
can you see it...yep you may have guessed it - its a zip lock bag...hahaha  - your so funny...

Mmm is that everything....not quite - This is another block towards my - A Christmas Story quilt..
Nearly there - I will keep on sewing - keep on sewing....and hopefully get it done before Christmas..

And last of all - my new book arrived yesterday...as much as I would love to start making things from it already I will be a good girl (stop laughing) and clear some ufo's first...I wish I could manage the same control when it comes to chocolate...oh well....at least I don't leave ufo chocolate pieces around anywhere...lol
That's it for me....getting so excited about chrissy......oh and keep an eye out - I plan on holding my very first Give Away in December - just because Its Christmas....cheers all....xxx

OK So I went back...

I couldn't help myself, I wanted to show the grandson The Christmas Shack...do you think he liked it?
He has great taste cause nana loves this one too...might have to add it to my wish list...
A hug for Rudolf....
And one for Santa, now we cant play favourites now can we...
Look at all the lights nana....
ok we had to buy something...how about reindeer antlers...I can wear then while I eat my custard..
That's all - do you know how exhausting it is to take a 20 month old to a store that is full of lots of things to touch, and move and play with....nana needs a nap now...cheers..
ps: I sang Christmas carols to him to get him to sleep....

Shopping Overload...yesterday and today

Today I went to the Craft Show at Southbank (Brisbane) with Teresa...and met up with a few bloggers...
Now I hope I get this right - from left to right...Val, Teresa, Tatyana, Me, Marilyn, Noela, and behind
Lynda, Sue, Michelle and Fiona...and yes there is only food on the table in front of Teresa and myself..
 I bought a few fabrics...just a few....
I think these ones will be good for a bag...
These ones will suit mug rugs with maybe matching project bags...
These ones look like table runners to me....
Some brights for something special for my grandson...
And some odd pieces just because I feel that someday I may just NEED them....lol
These three fabrics are wrapped up like roses...I don't know if I can bare to unfold them yet...may just look at them for a while...
Quite a few of us bought Natalie Birds new book and I am inlove with the bag and quilt already...mmm more on the to do list....I bought some green fabric for the bag already...
I didn't only buy fabric  - Some pretty flowered pink ribbon (I am in love with this), new scissors (ok I know they are upside down - I'm tired), some beads and a pretty tin...and a couple of paper piecing
packets (not in the photos)..
Now for yesterday...Some of The Tuesday Girls went on an outing...first to East Coast Fabrics, then to The Christmas Shack, then to Sewers world, then to lunch (needed recharging) and then finally to the local Scrapbooking store...talk about shagged afterwards...I didn't move from the lounge for about
three hours after it and was having mega thoughts about not being able to keep up today.  But here I am, I need a badge that says - I Shopped and Survived....
We all fell in love with the Christmas shop - Bring it on....I am so pumped for Christmas now - do you think October is too early to start putting up decorations?
I love this tree - Fibre Optical Lights all over it... I was going to buy it but I couldnt decide which one of the girls would have to walk so I could fit it in the car..
Norreen and Teresa were getting very cosy with this reindeer.....nope still wont fit - who wants to walk...short straw maybe...
Helen, myself and Norreen being silly in the shop...what you cannot hear is the Christmas music playing and you cant see the lighting flashing everywhere...oh I am in heaven...and the girls were exactly like me....are you sure it is too early to put decorations up...
Now I didn't take a photo of all my goodies from this day - I did say I was very tired, and some of them are for swaps...so no peeking..
After two days of non stop shopping, chatting, laughing, etc I am totally shopped out...I do not want to buy another thing - UNLESS someone wants to go back to the Christmas shack with me...lol
It was a great day yesterday with another great day today...hello to all the bloggers I now can put a face to - It was lovely to meet everyone and that includes the ones I already know too...you know who you are...
I have my feet up now, coffee in hand and I don't plan on moving anywhere for the next couple of hours...cheers...xx

Craft Extravaganza Outing

Last week some of the Tuesday Girls went to the bi annual Craft Extravaganza, this is a great event to
go to if you are looking for some special items for Christmas, which I may add is only 71 days away..
Did everyone just gasp..I know I do every morning when I look at this little counter, but the fact is
its coming and there is not a darn thing anyone can do about it...
So lately I have been doing a lot of secret sewing and buying so this finds me with the problem of -
what do I blog about?   I cannot show you any of the projects I have been working on but I can show you a couple of things..
Here is a photo of Me, Helen and Norreen after our visit to the Extravaganza...Teresa (aka Cassie) is taking the photo, so she can't be seen with her bag of goodies...
Now you all know us too well and yes we did have morning tea at the lovely Spice of Life cafĂ©..
My citrus tart tasted as good as it looks, or should I say - looked...
Last week at our get together I was able to get a photo of my - Harvest Festival Quilt.  I have been working on this for some time now as it was a Block of the Month from Pieces of Treasure..
Now that I have finished the top, all I need do is trim, quilt and bind...

My first charm has arrived and it is so pretty, it measures about 3/4 inch and is hand sewn and incased in glass...such tiny sewing, someone has a lot of patients that's for sure..I can't wait for the rest to come...there will be six in all, coming every two months...
Here is another completed block for the Homespun BOM - It's Time for Christmas...There is only one more month to this BOM so maybe - just maybe - I will have it completed for Christmas..
The craft show is on again this week and Teresa and myself are planning on going on Wednesday so I am guessing I will have lots of photos to put up with lotsa purchases...oh dear...don't run away yet wallet...I am not finished with you...
Well that's it - the rest is - SECRET....lol
Cheers all...xxx

Glenrose Retreat

Our very first annual retreat has gone off beautifully, I don't think we could have planned it any better than if I had done all the organising myself....
On arrival to Glenrose, we were welcomed with a Devonshire tea...yum...definitely worth getting there on time just for this...(I did pinch the photo from one of the Tuesday Girls, so thank you)..

From left to right...Teresa, Laurel, Jenny, Norreen, Me (Sandi), Helen, Tatyana...
What a beautiful shop, I think this is what heaven should look like....or then again maybe it should look like Bryson's - a gift shop/florist/coffee shop that is in the middle of town...
Here we are at Bryson's having morning tea, contemplating what goodies we are going to buy....
Some foodie photos first....and as you can see, we ate pretty healthily - NOT...
You can see some of the gifts in the background...but this is only a small amount considering what is
actually in the shop - do you think they would notice if I moved in..

The cottages are without fault....can I take one of these home...pretty pleaasseee....I will look after it, I promise...
On one of the nights I lost the plot and was laughing so much I couldn't see straight - and it has nothing to do with the bottles on the table...   Hello Tat - your glass is looking empty, and I don't see any chicken in front of you....
I did manage some sewing - I have started to put my - A Christmas Story by Anni Downs together.
I also managed to make a few projects bags....my very first zips, now arnt I just clever...thanks Teresa for guiding...I love these bags, I am going to make millions....lol
I have already put some projects into them. Only 999 994 to go...
Purchases...yes I did buy some items while away...first I want to show you this beautiful clock..
I love it...and it has my favourite flower on it  - roses...
I feel this was my best buy list...
I have just realised that I forgot to turn the photo sideways...did you notice too...oh well - too bad, you get the idea anyway...
Some pretty fabrics to add to my stash...
And a little teapot, sorry it's not the best photo of it...
Well that's it for me, I came back from retreat exhausted - too much laughing, eating, drinking, shopping, and chicken, but never enough time spent with some of the greatest friends a girl can have..
Oh just realised - maybe I was in heaven...and your right - there can never be enough of the above things...Can't wait til our next retreat....might have to do this kinda thing more often...
Thanks so much girls, the weekend just would not have been the same without you all....and this includes our special invited guests - Tatyana and Jenny...hope you two can come next time...
Signing off now....cya   xxxx
