Some Very Naughty Girls

I had a phone call yesterday, by a very upset Helen, asking if she could pop around because she needed a friend to talk to...
When she got to my place, she walked in, and I swear, I thought she was crying....I was starting to think she had done something awful to her hubby or worse to a swap present...
I then heard some noise outside and realised that I had been 'set up'...These three VERY naughty
girls were up to no good...
They were not happy with the fact that I had given them all an advent calendar to open during December and that I would not have one myself...
You may be asking why I think that they are VERY naughty...well just before I gave them their
gift, I gave a little speech to what they could or could not do...one being that they could NOT
return the favour....
Did they listen....NO, are they Naughty ...YES....but I love them anyway...
I am going to let Santa know to take you all off the 'Nice' List for being so naughty...and don't think I won't cause I know him personally (and can get him to do just about anything)....
This is what inside the box looks like...  The girls were able to get these pressies together in less than
24 hours...and I have been warned to be careful of the 'dodgy' wrapping....
Such a lovely surprise, even if they are Naughty....are you listening girls....can you see 'that' word appearing in this post over and over again.....could it be the word - NAUGHTY....
Mind you, what else could I have expected from them, they quite often let me know that they never
listen to me anyway...and Helen is known for being The Naughty One....
Well that's all from me....I am soooo looking forward to the 1st of December....
Oh and it's good to know that Helen's hubby is in one piece...lol
Thanks girls, you have blown me away....a totally unexpected surprise....love ya all heaps...xxxx

A Guest Appearance....

Yesterday we had a very special visitor to our Tuesday Group, Santa had flown in all the way from the North Pole just to visit with the Tuesday Girls...He must have heard the rumours about our lovely group....all true too...and he was kind enough to hand out some pressies too...
Here is our wonderful Tess....she is looking a little excited here...
Next we have the lovely Teresa.....

Santa doesn't miss a trick and is informing Helen that he has heard about her reputation for being "The Naughty" one....

Last but not least, it was our unforgettable Norreen's turn to visit with Santa...

I love this photo, everyone is looking very please with themselves...

I didn't miss out...I too got a big cuddle from Santa...

Inside the girls pressies are 24 little pressies (Advent style)....just a little fun for girls...

Well that's it for me, a big thank you to Santa (aka hubby) for making The Tuesday Girls feel special and thanks Helen, Teresa, Tess and Nor for making my life full of friendship and laughter, oh ok and a bit of naughtiness too....Life would be so boring without you girls...love you all heaps...xxxx

Halloween, Christmas and Family Catchup Post...

I have been a little slack lately putting up my posts as quickly as I should be...but time is just flying by way to fast for me to keep up...
So lets begin with Halloween..
We went to the - Keeping Kids Off The Streets - halloween party at Ormeau last month..
What a great night - lots of lollies for the kids, heaps of fictional characters walking around, fire works and a DJ.   Here is a photo of my grandson and my youngest daughter and her friend...
I thought the girls would be a little bored but they thought it was great and even volunteered to help with handing out the lollies...you cant tell by this photo but those buckets were full of sweets.  The organisers opened the community centre up and at different areas through out the building they had these stations set up so the kids could walk around and 'trick or treat'.  It was such a great idea.  I will confess that I do NOT like Halloween but concede to the fact that it is moving into Australia and will most likely be a big part of my grandson's future...and to tell the truth, he had a ball and I did too...
Look who else I found there...just couldn't resist getting a photo with my two favourite pirates... the shorter one is by far the cutest but on just....
My eldest daughter reached the 22 week stage of her pregnancy on the weekend, all is going well and we are soooo looking forward to meeting our second grandchild next year..
Hudson is holding his news....
Sewing - whats that???  I have being making some cushion covers for christmas and this is what I have come up with so far...mind you they are not finished - just the tops are done...
I seem to be having a 'snowman' thing happening...
This one is made from felt and buttons...
Another snowman....Hopefully I will pull my finger out, find my mojo and finish these cushions in time for christmas (this year)...
I have also made some stockings, we have more boys in the family than girls so I did try to make them a little masculine but I guess that was a fail when I added the flowers to the black topped ones..lol  Oh well.
One of The Tuesday Girls has had the nerve to leave us for 10 days and galivant around New Zealand with her Hubby...   We all missed her so much and are glad she had a wonderful time, but we are more happier now that she is back home with us, where she belongs...(No more trekking around the country side, ok...its just not on...lol)
Helen did bring pressies back for us...A New Zealand bauble for my chrissy tree, a beautiful tag and some gorgeous fabric...so I guess we can forgive her for leaving us behind... bribery goes a long way...Thank you Helen...Your bauble with be the first one on my tree this year...xx
Last month, Teresa got busy and made quite a few of these fobs and tiny zipper pouches...I was spoilt and was given these two matching ones. They were so popular, with them being snapped up before they were even finished, so I am feeling very grateful that she gave me them.   Thank you Teresa, I love them...xx
Well that's about it...just a bit of secret sewing but I can not show you any of that...but I can show you this...
Swap number 1 ready for posting...
Swap number 2, ready for posting too...
Oh I did do a little shopping recently and found this gorgeous panel at The Dew Drop In, in Hervey Bay...it has the chalk board look to it and even though I haven't decided what I am going to make with it, I am salivating with ideas of how to use it.
That's it for me...a bit of an eclectic post but October just flew by and by the looks of it, November is chasing after it....cya all....xxxx

Ivy Maud Bemi

My beautiful grandmother passed away this week and I just wanted to put a quick post up with regards to this...
She was a lovely lady, whom I always try to model myself from...   Grandma always had time for us, and would give us the world if she was able.   I don't have one memory of her being cross with us and getting annoyed with anything we did.
She was like this with everyone...I have heard stories of when I was a baby, she and my grandfather owned a shop at Balmoral Heights, anyway, they did not do very well with the shop because during hard times, she would always give customers credit and never tried to get them to repay anything..this story sounds exactly how I remember her.
Grandma always made us pikelets in the shape of our intials...and we were allowed to help too.   We were allowed to go through the kitchen cupboards for our pretend play and to wear her jewellery when we looked through her gorgeous jewellery box.
In my young adult life, she gave me some of her treasures which I have kept most of them and passed the others down to my daughter.
Grandma left me a portrait of herself when she was a young girl...I am tickled pink to have it on my walls and hope one of my kids will cherish it in the future too.   It was hard to take a photo of it because the glass in it is domed, something I am sure will be hard to replace if something ever happens to it...(so don't want to think about that)...
I think I could ramble on for pages and pages with regards to my grandmother,  I miss her heaps and promise to always live my life as she would have wanted....
I've got to go now, getting too emotional to write any more....Love you Gran...xxx

A Little Christmas Creativity

I have this box in which I put bits and pieces into "just in case" I might need them and today I thought I would make use of some of the bits...
I have added a snowman ornie (with its hook to hang it up missing) , along with a timber
box in which I nearly put into the bin the other day...ignore the dust as that is one of the reasons I was going to get rid of it...anyhow...add a few old bells, branches and ribbon to the pile and look what I have created...oh and of course my glue gun....I just love my glue gun..
From this...
To This... a little Christmas display....

A closer look...

Not too bad, if I do say so myself...now all I have to do is come up with something to make with the rest of the crap stuff in the box...I needed a bigger timber box cause there is heaps of stuff left...oh well, at least I used some of it...and as a bonus I got to keep the timber box and only have to dust it once a year...lol
Toot-a-loo....xxx

Libby's Mystery Quilt- block 7

Just finished another block for Libby's Mystery Quilt... I have sewed with my little fingers none stop all weekend until it was completed...so hard to get a good photo of it but you get the idea.
A closer look....
Two to go....and Mrs Postie - take your time, I would love a rest before the next one comes....
That's all....cya
