Sunday Stitchers

The Sunday Stitchers came together on the weekend and when we did we had a lot of catching up to do..  First of all, three of us are doing a stitch-a-long, the Natalie Bird - Bluebell Lane quilt.  We are planning on sewing one block a month, and so far I have been able to keep up.  Here are my first four blocks...
Susan's first, almost four, blocks...
Inca's four blocks....
It's so good seeing the different colour choices and I must say, they are all looking great...
We had some show-n-tell..  Susan had two finished quilts to show us...
MMM... that quilt has legs.
Oh, there she is... Hello Susan..
Helen brought along her  beautiful "70th" Teapot Quilt..  I wish I had a different photo cause I have no idea what she was thinking when I took this photo, but I did get a laugh out of
Helen is also holding her Gail Pan wall hanging..
We were a little behind with the Birthday Fat Quarters so there were quite a few pressies to be given out...  Don't they look great...
Teresa made the birthday girls a 'cup cake' fat quarter each..  I love these.  I wonder if she would turn all my fat quarters into cup cakes - they are just soooo cute...
Wow so many pressies to open....
Very pretty fabrics, thank you girls...

That will do me today.. hope you all have had a great Anzac Day...

The Festival Of Nor..

Yesterday saw The Tuesday Girls heading off for another road trip in the continuation of the celebration of Nor's Birthday..   Don't you just love 'selfies', some people just seem to be able to pull them off with no effort at all, but this is definitely not the case with us...we find we laugh a little too much while trying to fit all of us into the photo..  I think we are getting better though..two photo's taken and we are all visible and smiling - no one is pulling a face.  I can see why people invest in a 'selfie stick'- its hard to hold the camera out so far and take the photo..  Thanks Cass, you did a great job... A New title - Official photographer for The Tuesday Girls...
Take Two - just in-case...
We started the day with morning tea at San Churro - Nor bought me a Bailey's Truffle chocolate - oh my, I think I have found my new 'all time' favourite chocolate...Oh it was sooo good..
The birthday girls choice in movie today..  We saw The Boss at Springfield Cinemas.  I love their new cinemas, everything is so clean, the chairs are comfortable, the staff friendly..
A little shopping was also added into the day.. Teresa and I fell in-love with this baking dish, which I might add was on a great special, so we each bought one..
I found two bags that just had to come home with me..a small one for when I just need something to hold my phone and keys and a medium sized red one, well, just because I liked it..
Another fantastic day with friends, Happy Birthday Nor, I hope all your computer troubles are resolved real
On Tuesday, I forgot to mention that Teresa's Mum, Frankie, had sent up a parcel for me.  I am going to call it a necklace cause I don't know what it is officially called, but I think necklace would be pretty close or maybe it could be necklace/scarf..  Teresa has one and I thought it was great and with a bit of wheeling and dealing, ta da, I now have one myself...  Thanks Frankie and Teresa, looking forward to wearing it...xx
Well that's all..hope you all have a great day..

Date Night

Or should that be - Date Day..  Hubby and I headed to the Gold Coast today for lunch at the new Garden Kitchen & Bar at Jupiter's Casino...  We won a $100 voucher weeks ago and have been trying to get down there but due to other commitments have not been able to get there - that is until today.
Hubby had the Rib Eye and most of my chips..  I had the crab cakes and the fish n chips..  Oh yum.. It was my first time at trying crab cakes and I must admit they are very yummy..
When we were leaving, we had spent all but $16 so the host of the restaurant insisted we take home something for later..  So this Is what came home with us..but so sorry, its all gone now.. num num
I always love spending time with hubby not matter what the occasion is..and today was another great day...  love ya babe..

The Festival Of Nor

Wow, have we had a lot of Festivals lately and this week we find ourselves celebrating Nor's Birthday.  On Monday, three of us met for a bit of a walk around our area and seeing as it was Nor's Birthday she had to wear her party hat the whole time...  We look quite energetic in this photo, just as well it was taken before our walk and not after, we might not be seen still smiling..
On Tuesday we headed out for a road trip to Bella Paperie.  Yes, I know, the dark side is creeping in slowly..  No stitching today but paper crafts..  I love pretty papers and they take up so much less room than fabric...hehehe.
Oh my, what a pretty shop, I am so glad I don't live close to this place or my purse would always be empty.

Too many pretty things...

I love this stand, I could imagine it displaying some of my Christmas decorations on it.

Just  check out the Beautiful Birthday Girl, I think she has is in her element... Looking forward to seeing your project finished Nor...

I worked on making some cards...
Here are some small ones..
Some Christmas ones...
A closer look..

Shopping, shopping , shopping.  I think I showed a lot of self control but I could not resist some pretty papers and gorgeous dyed laces..
Oh and a beautiful scarf - I am looking forward to winter so I can wear it...
I was so tired after our day but I had a ball just the same..Another fantastic day with great friends..
Happy Birthday
PS - Blogger is being a pain today and wants to put big gaps in everywhere and wont let me fix it..sorry about that..

Hubby and I decided to meet up with his mother and brother at the Ipswich Antique Show last weekend.  Here we are sitting on the grass having a break.
Wayne's brother, Cam, brought his own lunch all the way from the Gold Coast, this was quite amusing as he didn't pack it in a container but carried it on a plate. Upon retrieving his meal from the car, he realised that he had forgotten to bring a knife and fork..  So off he went back into the show to buy some.  He came back with the cutest little set which I inherited after he was finished with them..
I came away with three doilies to add to my stash in the craft room...
I was minding the grandkiddies on Thursday and Hudson found my 'birthday' glasses from the previous week.  He thought they were great..  I just had to add a couple of photos of Brayden sleeping, he was just too cute..
Yesterday we took the two grandkids to SeaWorld for the day..   Brayden and Wayne enjoying our much needed sit down..
Hudson loved everything... the fish, the stingray, the polar bears, the dolphins, the penguins etc... He did say that his favourite were the dolphins..
That's all today... No sewing to show you today, I have done some but have not taken any photos of it yet so maybe later during the week.. night all..

The Festival of 'Me' - Day 7

Today my festival comprised of  playing in my craft room.  I have started to put together this table topper from The Bird House..  Helen and I are working on this one together and have given ourselves a deadline to have it finished by..  So I thought I had better get started...
I would like to take a moment here to thank everyone for my birthday wishes.  I have had so many lovely comments from everyone and have tried to keep up with replying to them all but if I have missed anyone then I would just like to say a big Thank you. I have had a ball this week, had lots of laughs, ate yummy foods, and spent time with some very special people.  You would think that after seven days of celebrating, one would have had enough by now but no, not quite yet...  I have planned on two more days to my festival but I will write about them later..
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend doing whatever rocks your boat.  Sending lots of hugs to you all..

The Festival of 'Me" - Day 6

This morning saw The Tuesday Girl's getting together for another outing... My Festival has been a doozy this year - it might not look it but boy I am tired but I am not finished
Anyhow back to today...
We went and saw this today....
Another great movie with yummy choc tops and lots of laughter coming from the back row...oh yeah - we were in the back row...oops...
On the way out we came across a photo booth..  lets go check it out, said someone.  Why not, said another..
Now I will give you a mental picture - four women enter a two seater booth, close the curtains and then all you can hear is giggling...  lol  Helen sat on my lap and Norreen sat on Teresa's lap..
We were also laughing cause none of us knew how to work the booth, so here we were, one ontop of the other trying to read instructions ..  lol
You just can not take us anywhere unsupervised..
Alright, now lets get down to something a bit more serious - Lunch at the Coffee Club..
I had one of their new frappe's - Strawberries and cream...oh my - yummo..
Then followed this with a - well it was suppose to be a sandwich but it was more like a burger.. very tasty though.. I had to leave half behind because it was just too big..
I like their napkins - oops...mental note - put the camera away...
We paid Kaiser Kraft a visit and then Spotlight, and now I am at home, trying to recoup from such a busy week...  maybe a nana nap would help..
Cya later

The Festival of 'Me' - Day 5

Last night I had a "date night' with dinner and a movie was on the agenda..
We decided to go and see this.....

Now I will confess - on the way to the cinema I was having doubts as to whether or not I would like this kind of film.  After all, I was not born with any of those 'sporty' genes, just the 'crafty' ones.  The thought of sitting through a movie filled with any kind of 'sport' - well you can imagine what I was thinking (mainly that I didn't fall asleep during the film) but Event Cinema's had sent me an email offering two free tickets to the preview at the Springfield Cinemas.  So after some thought and a chat with hubby, we decided - why not - after all, it was being shown during 'My Festival Week' and we had nothing planned for this day.
OMG - I had the most amazing time, the movie is absolutely brilliant.  Springfield cinemas were lovely and upon arrival, made us feel very welcome with drinks, food and snacks, and it was such a "feel good' movie that you just left the cinemas feeling all happy inside.  This movie had me from start to finish and at no time was I bored, I even think I shed at tear of happiness at some stage.  Anyhow - just go and see it - Please - it is a fantastic movie - Taron Egerton and Hugh Jackman do a fantastic job and I promise, you will love it.
Before the movie we had dinner at The Beach House...yummy steak sandwich..
Of course there was a little dessert after dinner..  some chocolate truffles from San Churro..
Waiting for the movie to start...
That's it for today - Short and sweet today and  do yourself a treat - Go and see the movie..
